Description

SueñOn® is a project promoted by nurses and aimed at the whole society (health care professionals, managers, patients) with the objective of promoting the rest of the hospitalized people.

This project originated from the need to tackle, from the health care professionals with the nursing leadership, the problem of the sleep disruption among hospitalized patients and its subsequent lack of rest. Tackling a situation that is common among anyone who, for one reason or another, has to spend a night in any of the hospitals of our National Health Care System, by setting in motion some solutions that can help to improve this problem and which can be easily implemented.

The program, led by the Col·legi Oficial d’Infermeres i Infermers de Lleida, suggests adopting a series of easy-to-implement measures that are a result of the review of articles with scientific evidence, that is, with reliable results. Therefore, the project has two main lines of action:

  • Empowering the health care professionals, led by nursing, so that they can change their routines using the recommendations suggested by evidence, and
  • Establishing a communication plan so that the message gets to the population in general through the professionals that take care of them, the patient associations and the social communication media.
