Description

The IRBLleida is an Institute of Biomedical Reseach that is committed to progress in its research in order to improve the health of the population and facilitate the assistance-related activity. It is constituted by a research group of the Universitat de Lleida, the University Hospital Arnau de Vilanova, the University Hospital Santa María and the Health Care Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya in Lleida.

An example of a group that is focused on nursing research would be the Group of Research on Health Care (GRECS), which is formed by nurses and physiotherapists, both from the clinical practice (Hospital Santa Maria-GSS, University Hospital Arnau de Vilanova and Primary Health Care), and teachers from the Facultat d’Infermeria i Fisioteràpia (Universitat de Lleida). Their main research fields are the care of people (healthy and in disease process) and the health care services, and it takes part in different projects at a national, European and international level, among which we highlight the ANIMATE project (IntergenerAtioNal communIty for coMpAny knowledge TransfEr) or the COME project (Caregivers and ME).

The IRBLleida, together with the Provincial Council of Lleida and the Health Department, promoted in 2015 the center Science and Applied Biomedical Experimental Research (CREBA), dedicated to the research and training in the biomedical field. The entity incorporated quality facilities equipped with the newest technologies, destined to the learning of surgical procedures, the biomedical research, the development of new surgical technologies and the testing with new materials and medical devices.
